Go Off Script. Say the Quiet Part.
You do not have to silence yourself to receive support.
The Taboo Therapist is a space for emotionally honest conversations, thoughtful education, and support for navigating the things we’re often taught not to say aloud.
When trust breaks
The betrayal is not only what happened.
It is what happened inside you afterward.
You may be replaying conversations, checking for evidence, struggling to sleep, or wondering whether your reactions are “too much.” You may not know whether to stay, leave, confront, forgive, or wait. Betrayal can disrupt your sense of safety, reality, identity, and self-trust. You deserve language for what is happening—and support that does not pressure you into a decision.

Groups & Offerings
Educational experiences, groups, and thoughtfully designed offerings around healing, relationships, self-trust, and difficult conversations.

Meet LaTonya Allen, LPC
Warm enough for the truth.
Grounded enough for what comes next.
LaTonya Allen, LPC, is a licensed therapist, betrayal-trauma educator, and founder of The Taboo Therapist. Her work focuses on infidelity and deception, relational trauma, attachment wounds, shame, identity disruption, and rebuilding self-trust. Warm, candid, and culturally aware, she is willing to name what others avoid without deciding what someone else should do with her life.
Clinical approach: Trauma-informed, relational, attachment-focused, culturally responsive, and embodied. LaTonya is EMDR trained—not EMDR certified. Psychotherapy is provided through NovaSoul Therapy and Coaching and is distinct from educational and nonclinical TTT offerings.
The signature lens
From Silence to Sovereignty.
Betrayal often pushes women into silence—hiding what happened, minimizing its impact, or doubting their own knowing. Silence to Sovereignty names the movement back toward truth, discernment, dignity, and self-directed choice. It is the perspective guiding TTT’s education, conversations, and resources—not a promise of a particular outcome.
Name what happened.
Put clear, shame-free language around betrayal, deception, relational injury, and the truths that have been difficult to say aloud.
Understand the impact.
Recognize how betrayal can affect the nervous system, identity, attachment, grief, decision-making, and your ability to trust yourself.
Reclaim your knowing.
Strengthen discernment, boundaries, self-trust, and the capacity to make choices you can understand and stand behind.

Frequently asked questions
Honest answers before you begin
What is betrayal trauma?
Betrayal trauma describes the emotional, cognitive, physical, and relational impact that can follow when someone you depend on for safety violates trust through infidelity, deception, secrecy, manipulation, or other significant relationship ruptures.
Is The Taboo Therapist a therapy practice?
The Taboo Therapist is the public-facing brand for education, candid conversations, resources, UNFILTERED, and broader offerings. Licensed psychotherapy is provided separately through NovaSoul Therapy and Coaching.
What is the difference between therapy and UNFILTERED?
Therapy is a clinical healthcare service with assessment, treatment planning, professional documentation, privacy requirements, and eligibility rules. UNFILTERED is a nonclinical conversation and does not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions.
